Описание: This presentation details the physiological processes behind urine concentration and the micturition reflex. It explains how the kidneys maintain fluid balance by either diluting urine during water excess or concentrating it during deficits through the action of antidiuretic hormone (ADH). A critical component is the osmotic gradient in the renal medulla, which is established by countercurrent multiplication in the loop of Henle and urea recycling. Additionally, the vasa recta acts as a countercurrent exchanger to prevent the loss of essential solutes from the medullary interstitium. These mechanisms collectively allow the body to regulate osmolarity effectively while managing the storage and release of liquid waste.
