In this video, we reveal a simple, three-step "Cheat Code" inspired by the incredible Janek Gwizdala that will help you master the 2-5-1 and sound better now. This method is all about making your life easier by focusing on simple shapes and great-sounding notes, not endless theory.

I know the struggle of finding time to practice and feeling like I always sound kind of basic. I regret not doing my homework earlier in life, but it's never too late. This simple cheat code is perfect for busy bassists, giving you a structured path to progress in just 10 minutes a day.

We break down the Janek Gwizdala lick, showing you how to:

Use a simple shape over the D minor (2 chord) and C major 7 (1 chord).
Unlock the G7 Altered Sound (V chord) by starting the shape a half-step up from the root.
Apply Permutation to change the order of notes and create endless, unique variations without using too much brain power.
Use Expansion (adding rests and notes) to give your lines more "air" and personal flavor.
This isn't just copying a lick—it's using it as an anchor to create your own ideas.

Your Homework:

Practice the lick in all 12 keys.
