HIKING IN NORWAY: FOSSEN BRATTE- Bonus WW2 CANNON
Here is a video from my trip to the Amazing Waterfall Fossen Bratte or as it is also called the bridal veil.
Here was a battle on April 22, 1940 with the cannon standing on top of the waterfall. Germany lost 1 person during this battle and Norway lost 3 local men. The locals were volunteers who fought for Norway. Many believe the name Brudesløret is after the accident with the newlyweds in 1951, but the name dates from the early 1900s when tourism hit.
Fossen Bratte is located in Samnanger on the way up to Kvamskogen.
Here at Fossen Bratte there is a nice parking opportunity. From Bergen city center to Fossen Bratte it takes about 53 minutes by car.
