SEGA RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 1995 CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE by MBK-GIL

Описание: This is the very milestone for us, since it was this title that formed Team MARUBAKU. Although this sold far less than Daytona USA, it received the highest level of players' appreciation in driving game history. It was released in 1994, despite its title being 1995. SEGA at that time officially held time attack competitions using DESERT course, and many of the current Team MARUBAKU members were named as top rankers. All of other non-Member players are also the best current players still. You see what level of popularity and appreciation this game received. In 1995, a soft drink manufacturer Kirin Beverage Co., Ltd. sponsored "Racing Mania '95". Under the unique regulation of time attack duel between the teams of two players, the team led by now MBK-HAB was honourable champion of the tournament after enormously fierce battles in the most popular category "Sega Rally". The tournament was packed-full of dramas and fabulous stories which cannot be described in this website, but Racing Mania '95 was definitely a historic event for driving game players, giving the first opportunity for the players' competition.

Now for the introduction; Sega Rally, driven by the 3D CG Board "MODEL 2" jointly developed by Sega and Lockheed-Martin, has two major versions. Players called OLD-ROM and NEW-ROM, but this was derived from the fact that the former in the initial ships of deluxe cabinets and twin cabinets, the latter in the regular circulation. Strictly saying, there are 5 versions from A to E as shown on the sticker on the motherboards, OLD-ROM being only Rev. A. Since OLD-ROM was nearly a second faster than the NEW-ROM in championship mode time attack, the time attackers at that time used to hunt for the OLD-ROM in town.

This title introduced the "Wall Hit Turn" as one of the useful techniques. WHT itself already existed in NAMCO's Winning Run back in 1989, but the players were unaware of WHT since the 3D CG driving games were not the majority. WHT in Sega Rally was first found reportedly by a player in Osaka, and it evolved to a technique so-called "Rival Cpu Car Hit Turn". The news about at which point this techniques should be used was the center of the rumour by the time attackers. Especially in the championship course, the time attackers needed the integrated skill to drive all courses fast and quick, and the top time competition was fought on the extreme. Finally the battle in the championship course was between our "CAPTAIN" MBK-GILand Mr. R. N., the most respected player in Nagoya, which surprisingly resulted in a co-top in Japan at exactly the same time record, according to the now-discontinued GAMEST magazine as of January 19, 1997. Later Mr. R. N. recorded an astonishing 3'14"37, only a fraction of a second behind the title's theoretical time, and the record has been unbreakable ever since. Mr. R. N. also played as a top ranker in Sega Rally 2, the fact making him as "Mr. Sega Rally".

Now for the movie; all the movies were performed by "CAPTAIN" MBK-GIL. The best scene is in the MOUNTAIN, at the hairpin CAPTAIN passes at the verge of the machine's nose corn, which thrilled the viewers to sweat. In the FOREST, check out the WHT right after the check point. It was the very place where the first-ever WHT was found out. In the DESERT, watch the smooth out-in-out driving line, which is the extract of the driving basics. Actually not much in the championship since it was on the NEW-ROM, but for a NEW-ROM the record time was surprising. Check out the "Rival Cpu Car Hit Turn" in the DESERT!
