James x Riley (ft. Alfie + Emily) ~ The Next Step ~ Lift Off

James is a new dancer at The Next Step, who everybody thinks is cute. He immediately falls in love with Riley, another dancer, but Riley refuses all his offers out, and he eventually finds out that it is because she already has a boyfriend (Alfie). His heart breaks when he sees them kiss, but Riley explains that she has never been with him, so she has not done anything wrong. While in the duet rehearsal with Alfie, James looks over at Riley and she looks back at him, not wanting to hurt anyone. She tells her sister (Emily) that she has no idea what to do, and Emily replies saying that she doesn't love James, and that he will have to learn to accept it. Emily tells James this, but he replies saying that he loves Riley so much. James ignores her advice and "faces his fears", by going to tell Riley that he loves her more than anyone and that he saw the secret look she gave him. She walks away from him, leaving him sad and upset. Alfie doesn't want to do the duet with James anymore, so Riley is added to the duet, but they get carried away in rehearsal and James and Riley's duet is too romantic for "just friends". Alfie sees their close dance and breaks up with Riley, thinking that she is cheating on him. Riley is heartbroken and cries about it, but is comforted by James, and they kiss.
