Clay is from the Mississippi Delta and he talks about how he worked the soybean fields with his family and how working those fields is where he really found his love of music. You'll hear the story behind how he moved to New York at the age of 19 to write TV jingles from classical to hip hop, got over 1500 jingles placed in commercials and shows, and then ended up moving to Nashville to become a songwriter. He talks about the stories behind the hits he has written like "Beautiful Mess" for ⁠Diamond Rio⁠, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" for ⁠Darius Rucker⁠ and more. Clay has over 200 songs that have been recorded, 16 ⁠ASCAP⁠ Music Awards, a couple ⁠Grammy⁠ nominations, member of the ⁠Mississippi Songwriters Hall of Fame⁠ and more.
