I’ve performed this piece for so many weddings I’ve been hired for! What’s interesting is how useful it is as both a procession piece for the mother’s, the entire bridal party, and also as part of weekly mass. It's rare to hear both verses of the text which is why I chose to upload this full length recording. Having video examples of song selections can make choosing music for your wedding so much easier. When hiring a vocalist like me, with varied repertoire and years of training and experience, you can easily find music for your special first day into forever with each other!

Extraction from Fr Michael Richard's homily: Elijah in fear for his life wishes to pass away but God nourishes him and helps him carry on. Similarly calamity and pain can diminish our resolve but retreating into prayer will let us see God as He reveals his will to us. In only a still, small, quiet voice; silence not theatrics do we encounter the Lord. Seasick and tossed by the crisis of the world we must turn toward God. Desire to get away from the noise of the world. To recenter our minds, hearts and our collective faith rather than be tossed in the waves of confusion and utter sorrow. Conscious prayer takes silence to unburden our hearts, but more importantly to listen. Be lead. Like a lighthouse on the shore God will guide us out of rough waters.🪔

Troubled waters in the form of trial and hardship may come to plant doubt and confuse the focus of our faith. We must brave enough to take a step forward onto the water like Peter without losing focus. Should that happen reach out and cling even closer to God's hand. He's always with us. In our vocations, our relationships and how we remain #studentsoftheword. We are called to live and walk the path He set for us. Set apart and chosen. That means we must acknowledge that even things that seem absolutely impossible will come to be. Our Lord wills it so. By him we move and have our being.
In Him we are never lost.🪔

In the most tumultuous of times, certainly now in our world, we must not be lured away from our Lord. Put the teachings of Jesus come first and move with the word of God in all you do. He has ordered our steps to walk with confidence in chaos, so that no matter how impossible things are, whatever doubts dare confuse and distract you, the relationship you are maintaining with God is first and centers you. A compass leading you to heaven. That still small voice amidst so much noise and trauma will transform into sure and steady hands lifting you up. Arms sure and strong holding you when it seems you'll surely fly apart with stress and worry. Out of all distress the Rock of Salvation is always there. The sure anchor for your soul. Be not afraid. He is with you until the end.🪔
