Angus Fitchet (1910-1998) was one of the leading figures in Scottish dance music. From 1945 Fitchet played with the great Jimmy Shand before starting his own band a few years later. Fitchet was a fine fiddle player and in later life when asked how he wanted to be remembered he simply said, ‘Angus Fitchet, fiddler.’
