This painting of a Monarch sipping nectar from a Joe-Pye weed flower is done on a 12" X 12" stretched canvas. I painted this piece just for fun in a looser, more painterly style than usual, refraining from blending the colors too much and using larger brushes to make larger, more visible brushstrokes.
