The First “Alhamdulillah”
When Allah ﷻ created Prophet Adam عليه السلام, He breathed the soul into him. As soon as the soul reached Adam’s head, he sneezed. Allah inspired him to say:
“Alhamdulillah” – All praise belongs to Allah.
Hearing this, Allah ﷻ replied:
“Yarhamuk Allah, O Adam” – May Allah have mercy on you, O Adam.
This moment shows that the first words of praise and gratitude to Allah ever spoken by mankind were Alhamdulillah. It highlights the importance of thankfulness and remembering Allah from the very beginning of human existence.
