Описание: Every year the European Parliament awards the Sakharov prize for the Freedom of Thought, to honour human rights defenders around the world. In 2009 the prize was awarded to Memorial, a human rights organisation that Andrei Sakharov himself helped to found. Memorial works not only to remember the abuses of the Soviet era but to highlight the threat facing human rights in Russia today.
