This is a clip from a premium episode where I discuss the most pivotal podcasting insights that have changed the course of my career as a host.
Full episode 'HOSTING MASTERY: 5 Things I Wish I Knew 10 Years Ago About Podcasting' now available on Gumroad ($7): https://auxoro.gumroad.com/l/vzekt
Here's more on the episode:
Hosting a podcast comes with an incredible amount of pressure and responsibility, like:
Crafting engaging topics/questions for each episode
Getting in a confident mindset as the host
Navigating awkward moments
Retaining the listeners hard-to-capture attention
As the host of The AUXORO Podcast (300+ episodes, top 1% of downloads), I've recorded conversations with prominent guests like Mark Normand (comedian, JRE), FINNEAS (producer, Billie Eilish), Andy Weir (writer, The Martian), Jess Glynne (pop artist), and hundreds more.
I've made mistakes. I've survived episodes. And over the past 4 years, I've learned to thrive as a host.
HOSTING MASTERY is a collection of podcasting insights that I wish someone had told me before I ever stepped behind the mic. Some of these insights I discovered from my own experience, and others I learned from fellow podcasters.
All of these insights may apply to you, or none of them. Take what's useful and dump the rest. Question them. Leave them. Build upon them.
I'm no master (far from it), but I am on a journey to master the art of podcasting which will take a lifetime. The title "HOSTING MASTERY" refers to the process, not the destination.
Also, this "course" is not technical based (equipment, remote setup, lighting, etc.). There are already hundreds of great tutorials on Youtube covering the technicality of setting up/recording an episode. These are more conversational/philosophical insights on the art of podcasting.
