Our First Time in Thailand | Phuket, Phi Phi and Ao Nang

Описание: This was our first time in Thailand and the start of our Southeast Asia trip.

We left Australia and landed in Old Phuket Town, which ended up being the perfect introduction to Thailand. It was slower paced, colourful, and relaxed, and we would genuinely recommend starting here if you are nervous about travelling to Thailand for the first time. We loved the food, the buildings, and how easy it was to walk around and settle in.

From there we headed to Patong Beach. This was a complete contrast and gave us a taste of the more intense side of Phuket. We spent time at the beach, watched Muay Thai, explored Bangla Road, experienced the nightlife, and saw one of those shows everyone talks about but never quite knows how to describe properly.

Next was Phi Phi, which ended up being one of our favourite places. We loved that you could walk everywhere and didn’t need transport at all. We hiked up early for sunrise viewpoints, got up before most people to snorkel and go island hopping, including Maya Bay, and somehow managed early mornings every day despite it being known as a party island. We also really enjoyed the nightlife here, especially the fire shows along the beach.

Our final stop was Ao Nang. We were unsure about this one because everyone says go to Krabi, but not always where to stay. We took a chance after a quick Google search and it paid off. Ao Nang was a great base. We loved the night food markets, walking the Monkey Trail, and taking a boat over to Railay Beach.
