Iceland on a 1250GS - A Tale of Fire and Ice

Описание: BMW Motorrad South Africa ran a competition from Dec '21 to Apr '22 to stand a chance to win a 10 day trip to Iceland - The Land Of Fire and Ice, with the purchase of a BMW GS 850/1250.

I purchased my first motorcycle, a BMW 1250GSA from BMW Motorrad George in March '22 and was subsequently selected as one of the ten winners to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity to tour Iceland on a GS1250 from 8-18 Aug '22.

As a novice rider with less than 6 months experience on a motorcycle I could never have known what this 2000km trip through the F-roads of Iceland would mean for me as a rider and what a life changing experience it would be in the end.

This video is my way of paying homage to this incredible place, the legendary people I met, and the BMW R1250GS. What was supposed to be a 15min clip ended up being an almost 2hr long movie. I am definitely not a professional rider nor videographer. My first try at both, so I hope you guys enjoy this movie as much as I enjoyed making it.

**Edit:** Youtube flagged one of the songs I used on day seven as a copyright block, hence the poor editing as I had to replace it with something else that fit best without having to have to re-edit the entire days' video and photos.

I sincerely hope that this torch will keep burning and that BMW will have another competition like this in the future. My wife doesn’t ride, but will get a GS as soon as the next comp is going. Pretty sure my 4 kids also need GS’s soon. And if I don’t win the comp, I’ll definitely be back to The Land Of Fire and Ice!

We came, we saw, we conquered. We started of as strangers and left as brothers, and a sister.

Ps: Chris, you can write that food bill off on my account. My fam will ride GS’s for life!
