Laura Marling : The Water (Johnny Flynn cover) : Foxtrot 12 September 2010

Описание: Laura Marling performs a sublime version of Johnny Flynn's song, The Water, live at the Melting Vinyl and Willkommen Foxtrot festival at Stanmer House, Brighton on 12 September 2010.

I've tagged this as a Johnny Flynn cover, but, as Laura herself was keen to point out, she did in fact sing on the original version, which appears on Johnny Flynn's second album, Been Listening. So, sort of a cover version then. In any case, it was absolutely beautiful. The original version is my favourite song on Johnny's album -- and this performance was the highlight of Laura's set for me.

Laura's (entirely solo) set included material from both of her Mercury Prize nominated albums, Alas I Cannot Swim and I Speak Because I Can, as well as a new song called Heaven Again.
