At least 100 African American men died as a result of being an unknowing participant in the United States Public Health Service Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male. The study is the longest study in public health history that did not involve treatment. Lillie Head is the president of Voices For Our Fathers Legacy Foundation, an organization started in 2014 by descendants of the 623 men involved in the study. On this edition of Sisterhood of the Second Act she tells her father's story.
