April, a girl living in the city of Oztar, discovers she is a "blue vein," an extremely rare being capable of channeling magic through emotion. April is found and protected by Korvath, an ancient guardian dragon who recognizes in her a power that has lain dormant for centuries. Korvath guides her in her first steps toward magic, accompanying her in the difficult process of learning to control what flows within her. During her journey, she meets Star, an emotional, sensitive, and brilliant girl, connected to the same energy as April. Star becomes a sort of emotional guide, helping April understand the more fluid and spontaneous side of magic. A deep relationship develops with her, intertwined with empathy, fear, and an almost inevitable bond. Then comes Aria, Star's complementary guide: rational, calm, stern, but protective. On the dark side of the world operates the Greater, a mysterious being who dominates the Dark Form, creatures made of shadow that feed on the same energy produced by April. He wants to win April back, as his power is unique and could allow him to break ancient "seals".
