Some of the most common agile challenges and excuses include:

We are doing Scrum but... we have Distributed Teams.
We are doing Scrum but... we are working with Hardware and Software.
We are doing Scrum but... we are working in a Structured Environment with a PMO.
We are doing Scrum but... we are working on a project with Fixed Scope and Fixed Budget.

Watch out for shortcutting your agile process and only implementing parts of the Scrum methodology. It is a lightweight framework and there is some flex, but there are some necessary parts to make it work. At the end of the day, we would rather be doing Scrum with these agile challenges then approaching these projects with waterfall.
