The Rock Pool Project organises a series of webinars leading up to and during the Big Rock Pool Challenge: National BioBlitz 2025 — a week-long (17-25 May) nationwide mission to discover, record, and protect marine life, with a special focus on invasive species that threaten our native shores.
This webinar will cover an introduction to The Archive for Marine Species and Habitats Data (DASSH) Team, wider data flow, how citizen science can contribute to influencing policy (case study on how another iNaturalist project iSeahorse has influenced the IUCN red list assessment), and managing invasive non native species with a species focus on Chinese mitten crabs and Pacific oysters.
The Archive for Marine Species and Habitats Data (DASSH) is a flagship initiative of the Marine Biological Association and is accredited through the Marine Environmental Data and Information Network (MEDIN).
💬 Whether you're a seasoned rock pooler or a curious newcomer, this session will give you the knowledge to take part in our citizen science mission and make your rock pooling efforts count!
