The proposed class action brought by rapper RBX targets Spotify’s streaming ecosystem and alleges a scheme in which artificial streaming activity distorts payouts and charts, with Drake named as a central beneficiary of that distortion.
According to the complaint, Spotify knowingly allows or fails to police bot-driven streams and other forms of non-organic engagement that inflate play counts, boost algorithmic placement, and ultimately funnel a disproportionate share of royalty revenue to already dominant artists and their affiliated labels.
