On April 1, Roshayin Kesavan was found guilty of impaired driving, causing the death of his best friend, Adhavan Shurenthiran, in a November 2022 car crash in Toronto.
During sentencing, it was admitted that Kesevan's blood alcohol level was at least 175 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, or more than twice the legal limit.
As Catherine McDonald reports, the judge found Kesavan did not take responsibility for drinking and driving on the night of the deadly crash.
