CBI Arrests Absconding Accused in 2005 Murder Case Linked to Andaman

Описание: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested proclaimed offender Durga Bahadur Bhat Chetri, alias Deepak, in connection with the 2005 abduction and murder of engineering student Shyamal Mandal. The accused, who had been absconding for nearly two decades, allegedly lived under a false identity in Nagpur to evade arrest. The case, initially probed by Kerala Police and later transferred to the CBI, saw co-accused Mohammed Ali convicted in 2022. Chetri will now be produced before a court in Ernakulam as investigations continue into the long-pending case.
