Southern Ontario Lake Effect Snow WARNING | Dangerous Whiteout Conditions Today
Dangerous lake effect snow bands from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are creating WHITEOUT CONDITIONS across southern Ontario RIGHT NOW. Visibility dropping below 400 metres with 5cm accumulations already reported.
🔴 CURRENT IMPACTS:
Extreme travel hazards on Highway 421, 400, 404
Wind gusts 40 km/h creating blowing snow
Wind chill values reaching -18°C
Multiple vehicles off roadways reported
📍 MOST AFFECTED AREAS:
Owen Sound, Kincardine, Goderich, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Midland, Barrie, Simcoe County
⏰ TIMELINE:
Snow bands weakening by 2 PM, ending by evening. Conditions improve Saturday.
