The Krewe du Exploration ventures inside the abandoned Market Street Power Plant, one of New Orleans’ most iconic industrial ruins. Built over 120 years ago, the massive structure once powered the city until it was decommissioned in 1973, though it remained a backup facility into the 1980s. Left vacant ever since, the plant’s cavernous halls and rusting machinery have become a backdrop for films like Terminator: Genisys, Oblivion, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. With its future uncertain, the Krewe documents the site before time and the elements erase this piece of New Orleans’ industrial history forever.
