Introducing our dancers 🤍
Igone de Jongh was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and trained at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and The Royal Ballet School in London. She joined Dutch National Ballet and rose quickly through the ranks, becoming a Principal dancer at the age of 24.
She is known for her interpretations of the classical repertoire and for her close artistic collaboration with choreographer Hans van Manen. During her career with Dutch National Ballet she performed and led many classical ballets and became one of the most recognised ballerinas of her generation in the Netherlands.
After concluding her 24 year career with the company, she began working as an independent dancer, creating her own productions, theatre tours, and artistic collaborations. Her autobiography was published in 2020 and she also appeared as a jury member on the television show Dance Dance Dance.
