A mix of a few tough moments, some exciting new beginnings, a sudden shift toward almost spring-like weather, and just to keep things interesting, a bout of the flu courtesy of Mother Nature. Despite all of that, I still wanted to put something together for you so we could enjoy a few quiet, cozy moments together.

On the bright side, one of my recent videos unexpectedly went viral and pushed the channel past 3,000 subscribers. That’s something I genuinely never imagined when I first started uploading. The idea that thousands of people would tune in each week to watch the slow, peaceful routines of everyday life still feels a little surreal. So if you’ve been watching for a while or just recently discovered the channel, thank you for being here and for spending a bit of your time with me.

I also noticed something interesting in the analytics: just over 50% of viewers don’t have closed captions turned on. Considering how much of these videos rely on storytelling and little details throughout the day, subtitles can actually add a lot to the experience. So if you’re reading this and you usually watch without them, you might want to give them a try next time.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper week without a little chaos. My computer’s boot drive has started failing, which explains the slightly dramatic “sad ending.” After navigating the current prices of computer parts, I managed to track down a replacement. The plan is to install it this weekend, assuming my good friend J can make the trip over to supervise and make sure I don’t accidentally summon Skynet during the process.

On the “new beginnings” side of things, I’ve started studying for the Canadian Basic Operations Drone Exam. I’ve been diving into everything drone-related lately and researching which model to pick up. Right now it’s a close race between DJI and Autel Robotics. If everything goes well and I pass the exam, that should open the door to some really beautiful aerial content once spring arrives. That said, the airspace rules around Toronto are… intense. Let’s just say there’s a lot more to flying a drone here than simply pressing the takeoff button.
