Kaali lives a middle class and common-man life with his sister Seeta in a shanty house. He works at a small train station nearby with an Engineer called Vinay. Kaali is the eldest in his household and is stern and class-conscious about his sister with whom she meet and does not meet. One day he happen to meet up with Mangla, his sister's friend and leading companion, Mangla wanted to marry Kaali as she is in love with him but he does not have any interest over her. Kaali sister confronts him and he suddenly falls in love with Mangla and they both get married. A few days later Kaali reach with an accident and looses his left arm and he holds Vinay the Engineer responsible for the accident. Vinay, however falls head over heels in love with Kaali sister Seeta but Kaali reject him of having any relationship with his family since he is responsible for Kaali's condition.

After the passing away of his parents, Kalicharan undertakes to look after his younger sister, Seeta. Years later, Kalicharan and Seeta have grown up, and while he works as a Winch Operator, she looks after the household. Kind-hearted and compassionate, she decides to shelter a homeless woman and her daughter, Mangla, and permits them to live in their small house. A series of incidents with Kalicharan and his new Supervisor, an Engineer by the name of Vinay Verma, lead to Kalicharan's suspension for 10 days. Kalicharan takes to alcohol, gets into an accident, ends up amputating his left arm, and as a result losing his job. The question remains how will the duo and their dependents
