One of the most effective ways to help athletes perform on the court is to adapt practice drills to mimic the 6v6 game. In the fifth of five drill demonstrations, Karch Kiraly, Head Coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team, guides coaches through a “Bingo” drill. This drill entails coming up with 6 unique tasks to execute during 6v6 play- three tasks for each team. Captains will guide the strategy to execute, but a team cannot win the game until all three tasks have been successfully completed on the court. This drill allows players to not only think strategically about their own play but to identify the strategy of their opponents. Kiraly demonstrates the drill and how to provide useful feedback, including challenging each team to identify their opponent’s tasks.
