Rescuing Puddleduck: a microbat found in a puddle.

Описание: Puddleduck is am adult female Gould's Wattled Bat who was found on the footpath in a puddle, rescued by the MOP and brought onto her verandah.
When I arrived she was cold and very "shouty" (which usually indicates a head smack somewhere in the recent past), and wasn't afraid to show off her awesome teeth.
I gave her some rehydration fluids immediately under her skin, because though she'd been lying in a puddle, she apparently hadn't been drinking from it and she was quite dehydrated, then I dropped her off to a carer. I no longer see well enough to care for such tiny creatures.

Bonus footage of Grumps, the boss Magpie of the family in my area; Grumps has taken to arriving just before dusk for a snack, and he's lining up the mealworms in his beak, which means Tweezers (Mrs Grumps) is either sitting on eggs in the nest or the chicks have actually hatched. He takes the mealworms back for her or the chicks. It definitely means Spring has arrived when he starts to do takeaway rather than eating in Meg's cafe de balcony...
