The controversy is related to amending the Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1925. In this video, we tell you about this SIKH GURUDWARA ACT, 1925…and why a proposed amendment in it has raised eyebrows. SIKH GURUDWARA ACT, 1925, is an Act that governs the functioning of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee which manages at least 100 gurdwaras in Punjab, including Harmandar Sahib…and also allots rights for telecast of Gurbani. This aspect of provision of rights for telecast is at the centre of the controversy.
