STORYLINE
Hezbollah supporters gathered on the Lebanon/Israeli border on Sunday to take part in a protest against the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
Up to 1-thousand supporters carrying Lebanese and Palestinian flags took part
in the demonstration at the Fatima Gate border point in the southern Lebanese
village of Kfar Kila across from Israeli outposts on the other side.
Hezbollah supporters condemned what they called the Israeli aggression on Palestinian people in Gaza and the international silence over the killing of innocent civilians there.
Lebanese soldiers prevented the protesters reaching the border fence - Israeli soldiers watched from their side of the frontier.
Officers from the Spanish troops working within United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) also watched the protest.
UNIFIL's mission in South Lebanon is to maintain stability and security according to UN Security Council resolution 1701 .
Nearly 70 Palestinian, roughly half of them civilians were killed in two days of Israeli attacks against Gaza.
A total of 54 Palestinians were killed in fighting Saturday, the highest single-day death toll in more than seven years of violence.
Two Israeli soldiers also were killed.
