He has served on the boards of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA), the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, and others.

Matt was also named the Funeral Director of the Year by American Funeral Director Magazine in 2021 and co-hosts The Graveyard Shift podcast.
