The Essential Mix is a weekly Friday radio show broadcast on BBC Radio 1 and features many styles of electronic dance music. The show has been hosted since its inception in 1993 by DJ Pete Tong, who was also the first performer.
As a DJ, Pete Tong has graced the decks of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. He was the resident DJ at Pacha nightclub in Ibiza from 2003 to 2007 and returned to Pacha in 2011 with a new Friday night event named 'All Gone Pete Tong
