So, probably the biggest screenwriting question I get - besides how the hell do I format a phone call - is whether a screenwriter NEEDS to live in L.A. in order to make it professionally.

And while I would never dissuade anybody from packing up and joining the rest of the 6 million people sitting in traffic....it is entirely possible to jump-start a screenwriting career without making the big leap to Southern California.

And so that's what I wanted to cover in this video. In it, I outline a couple of key assets out-of-town screenwriters need to develop if they're going to pursue the Hollywood dream from North Dakota.

And whatever you do...don't let me or any other screenwriting "guru" tell you how it HAS to be done. Many pro screenwriters will tell you you gotta move here. Others will say...that's a load of crap.

Just remember, film biz people like finding undiscovered talent. (Gives them buzz.) So use your best asset to your advantage...your relative obscurity.
