The heartland of Tibetan Buddhism, which has shaped its art, architecture, music, and festivals for centuries.

Historically, it was the center of the Tibetan Empire and later a theocratic state led by the Dalai Lamas.

Rich cultural heritage includes thangka painting, monastic debating, traditional medicine (Sowa Rigpa), and epic poetry.

The Potala Palace in Lhasa, a former winter residence of the Dalai Lamas, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an iconic symbol of Tibetan culture.

Xizang is a region of immense natural beauty and deep spiritual significance, undergoing rapid modernization under China's administration, while its historical and political status remains a complex and sensitive topic on the global stage.
