Honda Civic EJ9 w/ B16 Engine Swap: VTEC Sound (Intake + Exhaust), Accelerations & Tunnel Runs!

Описание: One of the cars, or better, one of the engines to which I haven't dedicated a video yet on my channel is certainly one of Honda's VTECs, above all in its naturally aspirated form. So here's finally a raw sound video about a 6th generation Honda Civic I recorded some days ago.
The car is a project car of ‪@kanjoitaly3933‬ and it has the aim to be as low-budget as possible but still managing to be a fun car for young Italians, enthusiasts of Japanese cars.

He bought the car for less than 500€ and it was originally a 1998 Civic 1.4i 16V (which should be called EJ9), not in the best conditions but still able to being driven on the streets. Leaving aside its external look, Kanjo Italy focused his attention on the mechanical aspect in order to improve the car's performance. The original 1.4 SOHC engine with 75hp was the first thing to be replaced and without spending too much money the best compromise was to try to find a more powerful engine from the exact same Civic's family, so that engine mounts and wirings were as similar as possible.

His first choice went for a D16, a 1.6 SOHC engine with 125hp but its 'owner' was asking for too much money. The right occasion came when he found a crashed Civic 1.6 VTi (EK4) whose owner was trying to sell al least those pieces in good conditions and at the right price, such as the engine and all the mechanical components (ECU, gearbox, drive shafts, etc.). So now in Kanjo's Civic there's a 1.6-liter B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine able to produce 160hp at 7,600 rpm and around 150 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Kanjo left it as stock as posssible, modifying only the intake (with a 6-inch velocity stack and air filter) and the exhaust system from JUN (4-1 manifold, mid-pipe and final resonator). He later bought a Honda S300 ECU as a replacement for the original one.
Other changes he did were on suspensions and general car's setup.

I know this isn't the most legal video I did and posted on my channel but I hope you can still enjoy it. You can appreciate the VTEC engine's sounds with some accelerations, tunnel runs and on board clips (with both exhaust and in-engine/intake sound)! So cool to see the rev counter exceed its actual count until 8,500 rpm since the original 1.4 16V was 'only' revving up to 7,000 rpm.
