Born in a musical family, Asghar Husain received his initial training from his father USTAD ANWAR HUSAIN & reached his violin training under the able guidance of renowned artists such as USTAD GAUHAR ALI KHAN, violin wizard USTAD ZAHOOR AHMED KHAN & noted vocalist & “Khalifa of Delhi Gharana” USTAD IQBAL AHMED KHAN.. Under the able guidance of these gurus, he has acquired a unique style that blends the gayaki and tantrakari ang (instrument and vocal style). Asghar has graced the clarity of taans, khatkas, gamak, meend, fluency, the poise, the beauty & purity of raags, and variations of different laykari (rhythmic pattern) and the soulful tonal quality, one can feel that it sings. Asghar’s recitals are remarkable, matchless, and mesmerizing globally. He has extensively participated in various prestigious music festivals in India and abroad.
Asghar has received some prestigious awards such as Delhi Gharana Ratan Samman, Sangeet Bhushan Samman, and Swami Haridas Sangeet Kala Ratan Samman. Ninaad Kala Gaurav Samman, Sangeet Shiromani Samman, Swar Mani Samman, Tarana Arts & Music Samman and many more. He has also performed in front of dignitaries such as Indian Prime Minister SHRI NARENDRA MODI JI & Russian President MR. VLADIMIR PUTIN & received their blessings and appreciation.
