Even though it was a familiar terrain as I have travelled to Deoghar multiple times before, this one was special and unique as it was on my Motorcycle and with Friends along. Yes April in Jharkhand and Bihar would be hot, as hot as 40 degrees but we found it manageable amidst the fun and adventure.
Nearly 250 Kilometres from Kolkata, Baidyanath Dham is one of the Twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and hundreds and thousands of devotees from all around come here for Baba's divine darshan. This temple has it's links to the Ramayana and it's said that this is that Shiva lingam that Ravana was carrying to Lanka but couldn't and hence it's also known as Ravaneshwar Baidyanath.
In 1596, Raja Puran Mal, a descendent of the Maharaja of Gidhaur built the frontal portion of this Temple. Apart from this we also managed to explore the Tapovan and it's Caves and was certainly an experience of it's kind.
