In this video, I break down everything Nintendo could announce to celebrate 40 years of Mario, from realistic predictions to wild fan wishlist ideas.

We look back at what Nintendo did for Mario’s past anniversaries — from the Super Mario All-Stars Wii release in 2010, to Super Mario Maker on Wii U in 2015, and the huge Super Mario 35th Anniversary in 2020 with 3D All-Stars, Super Mario 35, and the Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch. Following that pattern, Mario’s 40th could be the biggest celebration yet.

The most likely announcements? A return of Super Mario 35 as Super Mario 40, a New Super Mario Bros.
