This is something I made after spotting it in an old Popular Mechanics magazine. It is used for raising the trailer axle off the ground to change a wheel if you get a flat tyre, it has no moving parts and as you'll see from the video, it is very strong, and much easier than fiddling with a jack on the side of the road.
