Day 17 of Lent Devotion : For Such a Time
Esther 4: 13-16
13. Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.
14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai:
16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
Faithful Stewardship Begins with Surrender
Faithfulness is not first about ability.
It is first about surrender.
Before God's entrusts increase, He looks for yielded hearts.
When we surrender our plans, ambitions, and timelines, God releases clarity.
Faithful stewardship of calling means:
We don’t negotiate obedience.
We don’t compare assignments.
We don’t run ahead of God.
*If your calling is surrendered, your future is secure**
Surrender in Our CHARACTER & COMPASSION – “Lord, shape me.”
Many want the platform. Few surrender to the process.
God is more concerned about who we are becoming than what we are building.
Faithful stewardship means:
Guarding integrity when no one sees.
Choosing humility over recognition.
Allowing God to break our heart for what breaks His.
**You cannot steward God’s work if you are unwilling to let Him steward your heart*
Surrender in COMMITMENT & COMMISSION – “Lord, use me.”
Stewardship does not end in surrender — it continues in obedience.
Commitment says, “I will stay faithful.”
Commission says, “I will go where You send me.”
The Great Commission was given to surrendered disciples.
When our lives are laid down:
Commitment becomes consistent.
Service becomes joyful.
Mission becomes personal.
*Surrender turns ordinary believers into entrusted ambassadors**
Day 1- We learnt - “Stewardship is not about ownership.
It is about surrender”
When we surrender:
Our calling becomes clear.
Our character becomes refined.
Our compassion becomes Christlike.
Our commitment becomes steadfast.
Our commission becomes unstoppable.
Here is the pattern - HOW CAN WE SURRENDER?
When we start acknowledging that Stewardship is not about ownership(God owns it all&Entrusted us responsibility) - Remain Thankful(Heart of Gratitude) - Results in Consistent Obedience - fuels Stedfast commitment and makes us FAITHFUL STEWARDS of what God has entrusted to us.
Faithful stewards:
Show up when it’s inconvenient.
Serve when it’s unseen.
Go when it’s uncomfortable.
Prayer - Lord, develop me as a faithful steward in this area. Strengthen my obedience and align my heart with Yours.
