A look on Spirit Board.

Key Notes:
In a few words, this mode is the hypothetical scenario if Event Mode and Smash 4's Special Orders married and had a baby. Which means an avalanche of Spirits referencing their origins in battle situations will be offered to you to choose from a random lineup that changes every so often.
A time limit is set on every Spirit you fight. Manage to collect the Spirit by striking the fighter through the Spirit shield shielding it.
You can weaken the shield using items gotten from other modes.
IMPORTANT: When shooting, notice there is a small delay when firing the shot. Time that delay right, and you may not even need to waste items.
The less equipped for battle your fighter is, the more rewards you'll get on top of the Spirit. HOWEVER, do not be suicidal not having anything equipped while taking on a Spirit with a higher rank (Legend being the highest) that clearly has powered up to the thousands, because they will surely end you in less than three blows. Equip less for lower-ranked Spirits for more gains, but go all out on higher-ranked Spirits.
Also, the game itself has periods of time (affecting every player at the same time) when specific Spirits appear more often. Those Spirits still appear outside the events. They just appear more often.
Furthermore, there will be specific periods of time when exclusive Spirits will get added. Once the time expires, they will be unobtainable until the game updates to a new version when they will become regular random Spirits to get anywhere in the game.
In more extra few words, think of this mode as a very random Event Mode that goes competitive on your butt.
