"And I Sought For A Man" Ezekiel

We started our Father's Day Morning Worship Service with congregational singing. The Adult Choir sang and a special family sang & played and a special lady sang & signed for our deaf members for the glory of the Lord to conclude our music program. Senior Pastor Bill Rains then delivers a Father's Day message entitled: "And I Sought For A Man" from Ezekiel 22:23-31.
Pastor reads just one scripture verse (Ezekiel 22:30) and then prays, thanking God for all the guests, loved ones, friends and congregation who came to worship. Pastor prays for attentive ears and open hearts to understand this message about the Godly role God wants from Men and particularly Fathers in this rapidly declining world that is bound for judgment by a patient but holy God.
• God Is Still SEEKING Men
Pastor begins by describing the scene in Ezekiel. We find from the scriptures that Israel is once again in a horrible state outside the will of their merciful God. Even their so-called prophets are preaching "feel-good" messages to the congregations, excusing their sin and making them sure of God's blessing while they were ignoring his commandments. Does this sound like today? It should because it is. God, however is not accepting the situation, instead he is SEEKING faithful Men to preach, teach and propagate the truth of his word.
• Men Willing To TAKE A STAND
The Men God wanted were those who are willing to do the right thing and not abandon the principals God has established for all of Israel and all of mankind. God doesn't change his ways to accommodate the ever-changing foolishness of mankind that rejects God and his commandments. God is seeking these men. God also commands us to seek him! Have you done this? God promises to reward those who diligently seek after the Lord. There are many stories in the Bible that shows how God seeks after men who'll do the right thing and gives them the strength to carry out his will for their lives. The Holy Spirit calls on us by name and once we hear the gospel of Jesus, we are held accountable to God's wooing us.
• Saddest Results Of ANY SEARCH
"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: BUT I FOUND NONE." (Ezekiel 22:30)
This verse contains the saddest results of ANY SEARCH. When we have no one who'll stand for the truth, we are helpless to protect our family from the ravages of sin.
What kind of man and Father are you? Will you defy the world and its wicked standards to teach our family God's will for us? God's word is the ONLY reliable "hedge" we can use to defend our freedom to worship the one and only God who can save us. Pastor references a movie where an unarmed man joins the battle and only does so by praying to God to help him save dozens of wounded men from death by a ruthless enemy. After dragging wounded soldiers to safety, he prayed to God "Please Lord, give me one more to save!"
Are you like that too? God is looking for Fathers who'll do everything in their power to save their wives and family from an evil world? The way to salvation is the straight way of the Lord Jesus Christ!
