Over 20,000 people have been affected, with nearly 3,500 homes damaged and close to 50 landslides reported. Evacuation and relief efforts are underway, with NDRF, SDRF, Army, police, and local volunteers rescuing stranded residents—some even carried on backs or evacuated by boats. Heingang, Khurai, and Wangkhei in Imphal East are among the worst-hit. Though rainfall is now decreasing, embankment breaches continue to pose serious challenges.
