Here we look at a production used info sheet on the proposed 'Transition Areas' for each of The Crystal Maze zones. Most made it to the finished show - a few dropped by the wayside.
With a new series filmed in a smaller studio, room was slightly smaller for the cross-over areas from zone to zone, making the on-screen segment very short & brief. Partly due to the fact of contestants travelling from any mixture of zone (in the 90's it was a joined set with fixed exit & entry points to their neighbouring zone), this made the vignettes hap-hazard - going one week through the Aztec wall into Medieval then the next week it lead to Industrial !!!
I think they should at least made the different exits go to the same zone every time, just used that different exit each week for that corresponding zone.
