▪️How to Coat Brass Jewelry to Prevent Tarnishing
1. Clean the Brass
Wipe the brass thoroughly with denatured alcohol to remove oils, dirt, and residue.
2. Secure the Piece
Use wire or a holder to suspend or stabilize the brass for coating.
3. Apply the Protective Coating
Dip the brass into ProtectaClear (or your chosen protective liquid). Use a soft brush to ensure an even, smooth coat across the entire surface.
4. Dry Completely
Let it dry for at least 1 hour in a dust-free area.
5. Repeat the Coating
For best results, repeat steps 3 and 4 two or three times to build up strong protection.
6. Cure the Finish
Once fully dry, bake the piece in the oven at 180°F (82°C) for 1 hour to harden and cure the coating.
