We planted Toona sinensis twenty years ago; it has grown taller each year. Its young roots pop out of the ground during the spring season. The young leaf is edible, and it tastes yummy.

We have trimmed extra branches and tried limiting tree overgrowth to occupy the whole yard. The Asian pear and persimmon trees will be happy this year, and they can have more sunlight after we cut down part of the Toona sinensis branch.
