Covering hundreds of press conferences and conducting hundreds of post-match interviews across the tour, it’s easy to forget where it all began- but some tournaments always bring you back. For me, that place is the Delray Beach Open. Six years ago, this is where I stepped into tennis media for the very first time, working as a full-time digital media host for one of the fastest-growing live tennis scoring apps at the time. I remember sprinting between press conferences, coordinating interviews, and learning the rhythm of tournament life on the fly. It was nonstop, exhausting and incredibly fulfilling.

Returning this year felt like a true full-circle moment. Same adorable tournament, same beach-town charm, just a deeper appreciation for the journey. This week also happened to fall on Ash Wednesday, so I started the day at Mass before heading on site- one of those quiet moments that grounded everything that followed. I also had a brief but meaningful conversation with one of my favorite members of tennis media, Randy Walker, where we talked about how every single court has its own storyline worth paying attention to- and that idea really stuck with me throughout the week.
