ORGAN GIVEAWAY 2: All Saints' Church, Isle of Man, UK.

Описание: All Saints' Church, Douglas, on the Isle of Man, is due to close this coming Easter. It's 4 1/2-rank, 2-manual and pedals, unit pipe-organ will then be looking for a good home. At the time of this edit (March, 2017) The Erin Arts' Centre is looking to raise the money needed to keep the organ on the island, but this is by no means certain.
The organ was built in the mid-1960s, incorporating some pipework from a previous instrument, and has a direct electric action.
All ranks are enclosed in a simple, brick-shaped swell-box, and the voicing is bold, but as the swell-box is very effective, the organ has a wide range from quiet to loud (possibly too loud at the console.)
The ranks are: Gedact (16' - 4') Diapason (8' - 2') Salicional (8' - 2') Trumpet (8' - 4') and a part-rank Clarabella, from tenor A, borrowing its bass from the Gedact.
The 16' manual stops (Double Trumpet, Contra Salicional and Double Diapason) are Tenor C compass, only.
The pedal Violone is taken from the Salicional, down to C13 on the pedalboard, then, for the last 12 notes, the 8' octave repeats, with the addition of the 16 Bourdon.
The organ is in basically good condition. It does, however, have its original electro-mechanical switching (KA multicontact switches) which sometimes show odd missing notes. These are easily dealt with by using spray-on switch cleaner at tuning visits. The best solution would be a new solid-state switching system, but this is not essential.
It is hoped to keep the organ on the Isle of Man, and there is one possible home here, though this may or may not prove to be an option, depending on funds. Any decision on the fate of the organ rests with the people at All Saints' Church, but all interested parties will be followed up and passed on to the Church authorities.
Whoever takes on the instrument will have to find the funding for its dismantling (estimated at £3,000 - £5,000, including boxing) in addition to transportation, and assembly, of course.
