Army personnel have established a walkway to north Sikkim's Lachen village in a bid to evacuate 113 stranded tourists in the region.
Lachen was completely cut off due to multiple landslides triggered by heavy rain.
Search operations are also underway to trace those missing after a landslide struck a military camp at Chaten on June 1.
The operations have been hampered by extremely bad weather conditions, unstable ground, and the challenging high-altitude terrain, an official said.
The Army has deployed specialised teams and engineering equipment for the operation.
